Our Story

Dare to Be Bare

Bare Beans started with a single belief: you should decide what gets put into your food, not a manufacturer, not a label full of words you can't pronounce.

We took the humble bean, one of the most nutritious, versatile foods on earth, and asked a simple question: what if we just cooked it? No preservatives. No firming agents. No added salt. No mystery sludge. Just a bean, kettle-cooked the way it should be, and sealed fresh.

Farmer-owned

Rooted in our fourth-generation family farm in southern Idaho, Bare Beans are grown by us and sourced locally when necessary, reflecting our commitment to Non-GMO quality food made with care, integrity, respect for the land, and pride in the community we call home.

woman-owned

Bare Beans was founded by a woman who believed food could be simpler and better. Frustrated by long, complicated ingredient lists, she built Bare Beans from the farm to your kitchen with a commitment to real, wholesome ingredients. That commitment goes into every pouch.

indigenous-owned

Our founder is an enrolled member of the Turtle Mountain Band of Chippewa, and respect for the land is at the heart of everything we do. For every pound of Bare Beans sold online, we donate one pound to Indigenous Food Sovereignty programs across the U.S. and Canada. It's more than a commitment, it's who we are.

Minimally Processed from Field to Fork.

Our beans start on the farm and end up in your kitchen with the fewest possible steps in between. We kettle-cook every variety from scratch, seal them fresh, and ship them frozen for ultimate freshness that you can place directly into your refrigerator, so you get them the way they were meant to be, minimally processed, nutrient-dense, and ready to eat right out of the bag.

No can opener. No liquid to drain. No preservatives, firming agents, coloring agents, or added salt. One pouch replaces one can of beans, with nothing you didn't ask for and everything you actually want.

What makes Bare Beans different?

Upon opening a pouch you’ll notice a fresh, earthy smell - nothing artificial. You’ll see the natural colored bean with a texture firmer than mushy canned beans swimming in liquid. As fourth-generation farmers, we grow most of our beans on our family farms in Idaho and we source locally when necessary. All Bare Beans are non-GMO and grown in USA.
