Slow Cooker Pinto Beans

This easy recipe for healthy slow cooker pinto beans is going to make you rethink every can of beans you’ve ever purchased!

Prep time: 15 minutes
Slow Cook Time: 4-6hours
Servings: around 12


4 10-oz Pouches of Pinto Bare Beans
2 teaspoons chili powder
1 teaspoon ground cumin
1/2 teaspoon paprika
1/4 teaspoon cayenne
3 carrots, diced
3 celery stalks, diced
4 slices of bacon, cut into ½” strips
3 cloves garlic, minced
2 bay leaves
1 medium red onion, diced
1 red or yellow bell pepper, diced
Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper


Cover all beans with water in the slow cooker. Combine with chili powder, cumin, paprika, carrots, celery, cayenne, bacon, garlic, bay leaves, onion, bell pepper, and some salt and pepper. Cook on low for 4-6 hours.
